![]() ![]() My question is whether or not the Edge will bridge the internet (ethernet) from the router to the MoCA network (coax) going to the Mini Lux(s). A MoCA network is also called a Coax to Ethernet or Ethernet over Coax network, so you may also see these terms used. Alternatives include running your own MoCA network in parallel to the TiVo MoCA network, possible with MoCA 2.0 adapters or replacing the TiVo MoCA network with your own, using either MoCA adapters with multiple Ethernet ports or connecting each remote MoCA adapter to a network switch, to connect the remote PACE/TiVo box, TV and other Ethernet-capable devices via the MoCA adapter. I attached a diagram for comments/suggestions, and hopefully confirmation that we are on the right track. Setting up a Coax (MoCA) Network MoCA is a wired networking solution that allows high speed Ethernet to bridge over the existing coax cable (cable TV) network in a home. My goal is to enable the eero devices to use the full bandwidth when communicating with each other while also enabling them to receive the full bandwidth from my ISP (2 Gbps). DSL line from wall -> Arris NVG443B > (ethernet)> Tivo Bridge Plus MoCA adapter > (coaxial cable)> Coaxial port in bedroom -> Coaxial port. The moca devices are capable of 2.5 Gbps through coax, and they also have a 2.5 Gbps ethernet jack. Heres what Im trying to do, but cant get internet to come through. I have no experience setting up a MoCA network to do what we are thinking of doing at his location. Heres what currently works: DSL line from wall -> Arris NVG443B > (ethernet)> Netgear Nighthawk AC3200 router. Unlike traditional Wi-Fi or Ethernet cables that may encounter interference or signal degradation, MoCA. MoCA, which stands for Multimedia over Coax Alliance, is a technology that utilizes the existing coaxial cable infrastructure in your home to create a high-speed and stable network connection. Get Physically Fit without Killing Your Budget 5 D C area homes for sale. This is where MoCA Ethernet adapters come in. Also connect the upstairs router to the cable modem. It would be impossible to run hardwired ethernet to each Lux without tearing out sheetrock. MoCA Ethernet bridge for your LAN ARRIS NVG4XXQ Ethernet and FTTH Gateway User. Connect it via MoCA to the upstairs router to create two wifi bubbles with a speedy wired backbone. I have a friend who is considering an Edge with Mini Lux(s) setup for his house, and has existing coax to each room. The old Netgear MoCA adapters have performed flawlessly for all this time. ![]() ![]() I've used MoCA in my home network for about 10 years now, a simple Point-A to Point-B drop down a wall with a 20ft ceiling where I could not get hardwired ethernet down that wall otherwise (the coax drop was already there since construction). That said, budget allowing, some might prefer to use a standalone MoCA adapter at the modem/router location, to avoid the Internet connection loss for MoCA clients that would otherwise occur whenever the BOLT is rebooting or offline if it was the bridge. ![]()
